What Printer Should I Get?

Updated: May 11, 2021

A lot of people ask us which printer they should get in order to retrofit the Flexion Extruder. This is great – think extruder first, then the motion system that drives it.

For single extruders, any i3-style printer will do just fine, such as the Wanhao Duplicator i3, or Monoprice Maker Select.

For dual extruder machines, we are partial to the QiDi Tech X-Pro (available on Amazon). It is the most recent iteration of clones of the Makerbot dual extruder, way back in the day. It’s a solid machine and performs well from the get-go.

If you are looking for way more capability, check out the machine that we make: the H-Series. 5 independent tools, additive and subtractive, rotary 3D printing, 5-axis motion, aluminum casting construction, precision assembly, etc., etc. THe H-Series comes with 5 Flexion Extruders by default, and has so many more capabilities than a typical desktop machine.
